What a Difference The Skins Factory Makes

5 UI/UX Design Projects - Before & After Comparisons
The transformative impact of The Skins Factory’s UI/UX design is vividly captured in the before-and-after shots of our projects, showcasing not just a change in appearance but an evolution in user experience. Let's delve into the differences we make when we take on a design project.
FortifyData
FortifyData, a world-leading Cybersecurity Risk Management platform that enables their clients to identity and manage risk exposure across the entire attack surface, brought The Skins Factory in to redesign their core platform UI/UX design. Our team refined the existing UI and UX over for 40 screens, while modernizing the visual design, and weaving neumorphic elements into the analytics’ visual design. As you can see by the “Before” image, the design language they were using was functional but looked a little bit dated.
We deployed a modern visual design using neumorphic embellishments with better use of screen real estate. A browser application UI lives in a widescreen screen orientation environment. Use up the horizontal screen real estate.

Iguana Solutions USA DevOps Platform
The Skins Factory was thrilled to work side-by-side with Iguana Solutions USA, a world-class managed services and hosting company that designs, creates and manages complex and critical infrastructures on physical, cloud or hybrid platforms. This collaboration brought together our deep industry knowledge of user-centered and user experience design with Iguana Solutions' unmatched technical prowess and innovation, to deliver transformative solutions for their clients facing intricate infrastructural challenges.
So this wasn’t a redesign project. They had rudimentary wireframes to start from. As you can see below, we didn’t have much to go on, but through notes and discussions with their team, we hit the ground running.

Fleet Fusion
When BritAmerica needed to re-imagine their software application design for Underwriting Professionals, they relied on the expertise of The Skins Factory. From the start, the designers at The Skins Factory created an intuitive, modern UI that will drive BritAmerica far into the future.
This was one of those projects where the client’s application’s visual design needed a lot of love. It looked like it was designed at the dawn of the internet when we used to get AOL disks in the mail. So we really went in and modernized everything from the navigation to the content layout and of course, the visual design.

ERP Maestro
As a leader in SAP security solutions, ERP Maestro contracted The Skins Factory to redefine their UX/UI Design for a small subset of screens. We voluntarily scope creep-ed the project ourselves, when our team designed multiple analytic dashboard color themes. We felt that ERP Maestro's customer base would appreciate having a visual choice. So the version you see here matches the color theme of what they had previous. What we typically show is one of the other color themes we designed for them.
What they had before was passable, though it looked like a Microsoft Word/Excel document. This is the main dashboard. The screenshot they took was from a live browser so the content was spread across and looks like you can see more of it. When we designed the responsive layout, we were constrained and designed it to be shown at a smaller width.

SCREEN RECORDING SOFTWARE
In 2009, The Skins Factory was contracted by our client to redesign the UI/UX for their flagship Screen Recorder software application. Now, 13 years later, The Skins Factory has once again been tasked to redesign & modernized their flagship Windows & Mac desktop client application, a robust, best-in-class screen recorder & video editor used by some of the world’s biggest brands. Feature-rich, intuitive and powerful, users can record video via their screen, webcam or both. This project was done in two versions - light mode and dark mode. To view the Light Mode version, click or tap the image at the bottom of the page.
The software & company name have been voluntarily withheld as we’re showing versions that represent our original design intent, not the final version we gave our client.
So we actually designed the Before & After for this one. There was a 13 year time gap in between. This wasn’t the first time we redesigned our own design. We did it for InnovaMD and their medical portal. So we’re definitely not going to disparage the previous design. Lol. We modernized the UI’s visual design language and designed new screens for a new feature sets.

The before-and-after shots of our projects are a testament to the impact our UI/UX design studio brings – transforming digital applications, elevating user experiences, and leaving an indelible mark on the way users interact with and perceive brands. These are just a few examples. What we deliver to our clients in the end is quantifiable:
1. Enhanced User Interface (UI): Before The Skins Factory’s intervention, the user interfaces were outdated, and lacking in visual appeal. In the after shots, you see a seamless and aesthetically pleasing UI that not only captivates users but also guides them intuitively through the digital experience.
2. Streamlined Navigation: Our 'after' shots display simplified, user-friendly navigation that streamlines the journey, ensuring users find what they need effortlessly.
3. Brand Cohesion: Before, there might have been a disconnect between the digital experience and brand identity. Our 'after' shots showcase designs that not only adhere to brand guidelines but elevate the brand, creating a cohesive and memorable user experience.
4. Visual Harmony: The visual evolution in our 'after' shots show how we harmonize color schemes, typography, and imagery for a visually cohesive and aesthetically pleasing presentation.
5. User Delight: Ultimately, the most significant difference lies in the user experience – from a potentially lackluster 'before' to an 'after' that delights users. Our designs prioritize not just functionality but the emotional impact, ensuring users not only accomplish tasks but enjoy the journey.
Now you’ve seen the difference we make when it comes to user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design. If you have a UI that looks like it was dated back when we all received AOL discs in the mail or it was designed by your coder, you might want to Contact Us. Doesn’t cost anything to tell us about your project.
Until next time.
