Featured Project
ACI Pay Consumer Version
DESKTOP + MOBILE PAYMENT EXPERIENCE DESIGN
The Skins Factory designed the consumer experience for ACI Pay from the ground up, creating an intuitive way for people to manage payment methods, navigate complex financial workflows, and complete high-stakes transactions with greater clarity and confidence.
The Challenge
Simplifying enterprise-grade payment technology
ACI Pay needed to make sophisticated payment capabilities feel approachable to everyday users. Complex workflows, multiple payment methods, account information, transaction states, and system feedback all had to remain clear without making the experience feel intimidating or overly technical.
Our Approach
Creating clarity across desktop and mobile
We created a strong information hierarchy, simplified key payment flows, clarified system responses, and designed a cohesive experience across browser and mobile interfaces. Distinct colorways help users recognize different areas of the product while complementary accents preserve continuity across the complete experience.
FortifyData
Cybersecurity UI/UX Redesign · Risk Management Web Application
The Skins Factory redesigned FortifyData’s cybersecurity risk management platform across more than 40 screens, creating a clearer, more modern experience for teams managing exposure across the full attack surface. The work spanned enterprise risk and third-party risk management, bringing complex security data, analytics, and workflows into one cohesive product experience.
The Challenge
Making the entire attack surface easier to understand
FortifyData had to present risk scores, threat events, infrastructure data, asset inventories, vendor assessments, and due-diligence workflows without overwhelming expert users or stripping away the detail they rely on. The existing experience needed stronger hierarchy, faster scanning, and a more consistent way to move through data-dense tasks.
Our Approach
Turning complex risk data into a decision-making system
We organized the experience around the questions security teams needed to answer: where exposure was increasing, what was driving the risk score, which assets or vendors required attention, and what action should happen next. Risk scores became entry points into the findings beneath them, while contextual slide-in panels let users review, filter, and act on information without losing their place in the platform.
Iguana Solutions USA
DevOps Platform UI/UX Design · Web Application
The Skins Factory designed the complete UI/UX for Iguana Solutions USA’s DevOps and managed services platform, transforming low-fidelity wireframes into a polished application for creating projects, configuring infrastructure, deploying environments, and monitoring complex systems across physical, cloud, and hybrid platforms.
The Challenge
Making complex infrastructure easier to build and manage
Engineers needed to move quickly between project status, infrastructure configuration, deployment progress, monitoring data, filters, and activity feeds. The platform had to support dense, highly technical workflows while avoiding excessive scrolling and keeping critical controls, system states, and project information easy to find.
Our Approach
Turning infrastructure configuration into a visual workflow
We organized the experience around the full infrastructure lifecycle, from creating a project and selecting a blueprint to configuring, deploying, and monitoring the environment. A collapsible sidebar reclaimed space for the Infrastructure Grid, while zoom controls, tactile drag-and-drop components, illuminated placement guides, and explicit deployment states made complex technical actions easier to understand and control.

Hi Dog Gaming Platform
Gaming UI/UX Design · Windows Desktop Client Application
The Skins Factory designed the UI/UX for Hi Dog’s Windows desktop gaming client application, transforming a series of low-fidelity wireframes into an immersive platform for discovering games, joining matches, interacting with other players, creating private rooms, and managing in-game achievements.
The Challenge
Bringing an entire gaming ecosystem into one client
The application had to support game discovery, match preparation, player profiles, chat, invitations, groups, private rooms, billing, and in-game currency without feeling fragmented or difficult to navigate. Each area needed its own purpose and energy while still feeling like part of one cohesive desktop gaming experience.
Our Approach
Designing around discovery, competition, and community
We created a restrained charcoal foundation that allowed Hi Dog’s colorful avatars, game artwork, banners, and interactive states to command attention. The interface established clear paths between the lobby, game library, match experience, social features, and player account areas, while distinctive progress indicators, invitations, panels, and room controls kept fast-moving actions easy to understand.
ACI Worldwide Biller App + Design System
Fintech UI/UX Design · Web + Mobile Application
The Skins Factory redesigned ACI Worldwide’s Biller experience across web and mobile and created the complete design system supporting it. The work paired expressive, human-centered product design with a scalable component framework for light and dark modes, establishing one cohesive visual and interaction language across the entire payment experience.
The Challenge
Making everyday payment tasks feel engaging and trustworthy
The platform had to support account verification, digital wallet management, user profiles, recurring payment schedules, transaction review, and payment completion across browser and mobile applications. It needed to feel visually distinctive without distracting from consequential financial actions, while every workflow remained clear and consistent across screen sizes, interaction states, and themes.
Our Approach
Designing the product and the system as one experience
We paired clean interface layouts with tactile dimensional cues, side-anchored panels, focused overlays, and illustrated environments that evolved throughout the payment journey. In parallel, we built the UI kit and style guide covering typography, color, spacing, navigation, forms, tables, notifications, dialogs, status states, and reusable components across light and dark modes, allowing future screens to extend the product without fragmenting it.
Recognize Me
Social Discovery UI/UX Design · Mobile Application
The Skins Factory designed Recognize Me from the ground up after the client gave us a single sentence: “I want to be able to put a name to a face.” Over nearly six months, we transformed that idea into a complete social discovery mobile application, defining the product strategy, feature set, user flows, interaction model, visual design, and hundreds of screens across light and dark experiences.
The Challenge
Turning one sentence into an entire product ecosystem
There was no existing product, established feature set, or interface to improve. The work began with a single idea and required us to determine what the application needed to do, how proximity-based discovery and privacy should work, how users would manage the people they encountered, and how social, professional, and romantic connections could coexist without confusing the experience.
Our Approach
Building the product from strategy through final interface
We defined the core functionality, mapped the user journeys, designed the interaction model, developed the low- and high-fidelity wireframes, and carried the application through final visual design. The complete experience included onboarding, discovery, remembered contacts, notifications, profiles, account settings, light and dark modes, five colorways, and three distinct profile connection modes.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Straight answers to what founders, CTOs, and heads of product ask us most when they are evaluating a UI/UX design partner. If your question is not here, reach out and we will give you a direct answer.
01What makes The Skins Factory different?
Twenty-five years of world-class UI/UX design, a founder-led process, and a perfect 5.0 rating on Clutch across verified client reviews. We specialize in complex, data-dense products where design mistakes are expensive: fintech platforms, healthcare systems, cybersecurity dashboards, and enterprise SaaS.
02Who will I actually be working with?
You work directly with a Senior Designer and the founder, Jeff, on every project, from first call to final delivery. No design project is handed off to a junior designer. The people who scope your project are the people who design it. Of course, we can always scale if necessary.
03Why hire a specialized design studio instead of a freelancer or large agency?
A boutique studio gives you senior-level expertise without agency overhead or freelancer risk. Large agencies staff your project with juniors after the pitch. Freelancers can disappear mid-project. Here, one accountable studio with 25+ years of digital product design experience handles your project end to end.
04What industries does The Skins Factory specialize in?
The better question is what industries we don't specialize in. Not many. We focus on five verticals where product complexity is highest: fintech, healthcare, cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, and AI-powered products. If your product does not fit one of those five, we can still design it, because that focus sits on top of 25 years of designing just about everything. Over 125 Windows Media Player skins. Media players for Akamai, iRiver, Nero Showtime, and Motorola's iRadio. Communications applications for AT&T and Nortel. Disney's online music store, Target's Windows desktop storefront, and projects for the NFL, Alienware, HP, and Yahoo!, among hundreds of other applications.
05What kind of companies does The Skins Factory work with?
Funded startups, mid-size companies and global brands. For every project we've done for Microsoft, Disney, Bank of America, NVIDIA, and Intel, we've designed many more for extraordinary startups who are looking to bring their ideas to life and mid-size companies who need an advantage to take on their competition.
06Can you redesign an existing or legacy product?
Yes. Modernizing legacy enterprise software is one of our core specialties. We redesign dated interfaces into modern, intuitive products while preserving the workflows your users already rely on, so adoption does not suffer.
07Do you design enterprise dashboards?
Yes, dashboard design and redesign is one of our most requested specialties. We turn dense, data-heavy screens into dashboards that surface what matters, so users make faster decisions instead of hunting through tables. Whether you are building a new analytics product or modernizing an existing dashboard, we have a dedicated enterprise dashboard design and redesign practice built for exactly this work.
08Do you only do design, or development too?
The Skins Factory is a dedicated UI/UX design studio. You receive production-ready design files, a documented design system (if it's part of the scoped work), and developer-ready specs your engineering team can implement without guesswork. If you need the build handled too, our trusted development partner takes your product from approved UI to production-ready software.
09How long does a UI/UX design project take?
It really depends on the scope. A focused engagement, a single app flow, a dashboard, a website refresh, typically runs 3-4 weeks, while a full product design or multi-module platform takes longer. Whatever you are building, we scope the project around your launch timeline, and because you work directly with the people designing your product, there is no agency queue slowing things down.
10How is pricing structured?
We work three ways, and the project determines which. When the scope is clear, we prefer a fixed price, so you know the full investment before work begins. When you are starting from scratch and the deliverables are still taking shape, we work in dedicated time blocks through our fractional design model. And some projects use a hybrid: a time block to define the product, then a fixed price for the remainder. Whichever fits, you always know the structure and cost before we start. Nothing is padded, and there are no surprises.
11How do we communicate during a project?
Directly, and often, and always with Jeff, the founder. No account managers, no ticket queues, no "let me check with the team and get back to you." Clients are often surprised how fast they hear back, even outside business hours. Fast feedback loops, straight answers, and a direct line to the person accountable for your project.
12Should we start with a UX audit?
If you are seeing churn, low activation, stalled adoption, or more support tickets than normal, a UX audit is the right start. It identifies what is actually broken, in navigation, onboarding, and core workflows, before you invest in a redesign, so design effort goes where it moves the needle. It is also the lowest-risk way to start working with us: a fixed-cost $1,500 engagement that delivers findings you can act on whether or not we do the redesign together.
Need Your Design Built, Too?
We own the design and user experience. Our trusted South Florida development partner handles the engineering. Together, we take your product from approved UI to production-ready software without losing the design intent along the way.

The Skins Factory has designed healthcare software interfaces for enterprise platforms including InnovaMD (an Anthem company) and DocPanel, the world's largest radiology marketplace.
