Generative AI artwork inspired by the lightcycles of the 2010 Disney science fiction film, TRON: Legacy. We generated futuristic, vibrant artwork based on the movie’s lightcycles and morphed them into futuristic realistic motorcycles, autonomous light trike & quad racers using the powerful generative AI program, Midjourney. Artwork post-processed with Adobe Photoshop.

THE BLACK GUARDS
The Black Guards are the elite security force within the digital world. These guards play a crucial role in maintaining order on the Grid, the virtual environment where programs and users interact. The Black Guards are characterized by their distinctive black uniforms and helmets, which add to their imposing and authoritative presence. Led by the Master Control Program (MCP), the Black Guards serve as enforcers of the MCP's will and are tasked with capturing and eliminating rogue programs that pose a threat to the MCP's control.
In 1982, at the age of 16, I had my first encounter with TRON when my family and I went to a theater in Miami, FL to watch it. Growing up with the original Atari Pong and later the Atari 2600 and Intellivision gaming systems, I was no stranger to video game entertainment. However, TRON was something entirely different. It left an indelible mark on me, much like Star Wars did when I saw it in theaters in 1977.
As teens in the 80s we spent huge amounts of time in video game arcades (and shopping malls) and when Bally Midway released the coin-operated game, TRON to the arcades, I was hooked. I can’t begin to tell you how many quarters i spent on those TRON machines, but I became really good. The Light Cycle sub-game was always my favorite. So in many ways, these generated artworks are an extension of my childhood manifesting itself in modern times using ultra modern technologies.
We’ve implemented that inspiration in our designs over the years in some of the skins and UI designs we’ve created with what i call “solid light.” As designers, we are inspired by the experiences of our childhood and the world around us every day.

So this is the start of many imaginative things to come as we embrace the future with generative AI. Our passion is/will always be User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design, but the need to creatively express ourselves is always present. So when we’re not designing the world’s greatest applications, we’ll probably see what we and Midjourney can come up.
By the way, there’s a new TRON movie in the works called TRON: Ares.
