Image Editing Process
There’s a common misconception that you can simply type a few words into an AI tool and instantly get the perfect image. While this can be true depending on the subject matter, it's rarely that simple. Creating complex images often takes over an hour to achieve the specific result you want, and sometimes even longer. Once the image is generated, it usually requires further refinement in Adobe Photoshop to address the visual anomalies typical of AI-generated artwork. Then we correct the lighting and color.
Let’s take, for example, a PLSS (Portable Life Support System) pack from our 3-part generative AI artwork science fiction series called Journey to the World of Tomorrow. You can see the extensive effort involved in achieving the final result and this was one of the easier ones. There were some images in the series that needed over 200 modifications in Photoshop. That takes time. It takes time to get the image we feel is perfect and then perfect that image.
Dealing with complex subject matter can be painstaking. When multiple people or technologies are involved, achieving desired results can be time-consuming, and the outcomes are often dependent on the AI application’s knowledge base. Case Study: HALO Hair Studio
The Skins Factory harnessed generative AI artwork for an ongoing social media marketing campaign for Halo Hair Studio, a well-known hair salon in Fort Lauderdale, FL run by two Master Stylists. From Facebook cover & profile Images to Instagram Stories, Reels and standard image posts for both social networking platforms. This project was about reinvigorating the brand identity with an eye-catching visual hook while we changed the font for the logo they were using, to reflect this fresh visual design language.

Case Study: DTFSuperstore Ecommerce Web Design
During the discovery phase, we observed a surprising lack of color on printing supply websites, especially considering the industry's focus on ink color. Determined to differentiate our client's site, we infused vibrant CMYK colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) into masthead imagery and design elements throughout the site. Using generative AI Artwork (via Midjourney) and Adobe Photoshop, we crafted captivating masthead images for the various standalone & product category template pages. The overall design features modern, curved-cornered panels with subtle drop shadows, while neumorphic design elements added depth to the sub-footer and select areas.

Reimagining the Design & Technology of the American Mid-Century
a 3-Part Generative AI Artwork SCIENCE FICTION Series
From the imagination of The Skins Factory Founder, comes an exciting 3-part Generative AI Art Sci-Fi Series called “Journey to the World of Tomorrow”.
It asks and answers the question: What if the science fiction writers, futurists, and artists of the American mid-century actually saw their dreams materialize into reality? It’s an alternate American reality, where technology advanced quicker and farther than our own reality. Created over a 7-month time period, with over 11,000 pieces of art generated using Midjourney with only the best artwork selected for the series. He then spent hundreds of hours post-processing the artwork in Adobe Photoshop where he removed all of the imperfections, rebuilt parts of the images using Adobe’s generative fill tool, corrected both lighting & color and more. This is a huge collection of imagery spanning 3 decades and featuring robots, rockets, hover cars, stunning interior & exterior architecture, life on the moon and more!

Do You Guarantee Results?
We don't guarantee exact results, but we do guarantee our commitment and effort on every project. Generative AI artwork is a relatively new field, and we are dependent on the capabilities of the AI platform we use. We exclusively use Midjourney, one of the most powerful generative AI image generators available. All artwork is created by our CEO, who has extensive experience, having generated over 23,000 images to date. We will strive to meet your expectations as closely as possible.
Do I Own the Images?
Technically, no. According to the U.S. Copyright Office, "human authorship is required for copyright protection," and it will refuse to register works solely generated by AI. Any material not produced by human authorship must be disclaimed on a registration application. However, by altering the image significantly, it can become eligible for copyright. We operate in “Stealth Mode” on Midjourney, paying a premium for privacy to ensure our artwork is never publicly displayed on Discord during its creation. Realistically, once text tailored to your service or products is overlaid on the image, it's unlikely anyone would be interested in taking those images—if they even realize it’s AI-generated artwork in the first place.
What Can I Expect for Deliverables?
We aim to create images that closely match your request. If you contract us for five images, we will deliver five fully processed images. Each image undergoes generation followed by refinement in Adobe Photoshop, where we remove imperfections, rebuild necessary areas, apply any requested text, and adjust color and lighting for optimal results. When you hire us for five images, you’ll receive five completed images. Additionally, if we generate extra images that we think might be useful to you, we'll provide those as a bonus, though they won't be optimized in Photoshop. Our commitment to exceeding expectations has been our standard since 2000, often leading us to go beyond the original scope, especially in UI/UX design for applications.If for some reason we simply can’t generate a subject matter close enough, we’ll let you know and let you select a different subject matter.At the start of the project, you will need to let us know the exact size requirements needed for each individual image in pixels.
How Much Does the Service Cost?
Given our extensive experience in image generation, our costs depend primarily on the subject matter, which we'll discuss with you. Creating a final image can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the complexity. We charge a fixed rate of $95 per hour, which is highly cost-effective compared to custom illustrations or photographs. Additionally, we offer discounts: the more images you request, the lower the overall cost.
