Mileage Tracker: Night Mode
Our team had the idea to develop a version of the application specifically tailored for day and night use, catering to the needs of drivers during trip capture. When it comes to using apps while driving, safety is paramount. We previously designed a similar feature for Panasonic Corporation of North America's Arbitrator Toughbook Mobile Client, which is utilized by Law Enforcement. The primary objective was to ensure that the user is not blinded by a bright user interface when operating the application at night. We also made the activate Trip Capture button extremely large while deploying large pulse effects as visual cues, allowing drivers to maintain focus on the road while using the mobile app. Additionally, we went the extra mile and created a version that accommodates color-blind users (specifically deuteranopia), since the default interface utilizes red and green for active and inactive functionality.
