During the comp phase we explored and developed multiple iterations of the Home screen in various colorways inspired by FK Irons’ brand identity color palette. This deliberate exploration ensured a cohesive and visually striking result that resonated with their brand ethos.
To achieve the desired aesthetic, we fused sleek 2D design principles with subtle, tactile elements of neumorphism, crafting a modern and edgy design language. This unique approach seamlessly balanced depth and minimalism, providing a visually compelling user interface that stood out while maintaining functionality and usability. By marrying FK Irons' brand identity with contemporary design trends, we delivered a distinctive, future-forward experience that will leave a lasting impression.

The design style we created is a tactile interface that mimics the real-world interactions people are used to. By using subtle shadows and highlights, neumorphism enhances the feeling of depth and interactivity, making the app's controls feel intuitive and easy to engage with. We instructed our client to have their code development team deploy haptic feedback responses to increase the tactile experience.
While neumorphism brings depth and dimension, 2D design ensures clarity and simplicity. In the context of a tattoo machine control app, where users need to quickly and easily control various settings, 2D design ensures the interface is straightforward and easy to understand at a glance. This reduces cognitive load and makes it easier for tattoo artists to operate their FK Iron tools without unnecessary distractions.

Early UI Color Test
During the initial stages of the design process, we explored numerous early concepts, iterating through various ideas to refine the vision. While those early iterations aren't displayed here, they played a crucial role in shaping the final direction. Once we honed in on the optimal layout, we transitioned to a focused phase of monochromatic color testing. These tests were carefully crafted to align with FK Iron's intellectual property, ensuring the designs not only met aesthetic standards but also resonated with their brand identity. What you see here are the final, polished comps that emerged from this thoughtful and collaborative process.
