Digital Blue Astronomy
Windows DESKTOP CLIENT APPLICATION UI/UX DESIGN
Skeuomorphism was alive & well at The Skins Factory, when we designed Digital Blue's Astronomy desktop app. We were introduced to Digital Blue by Disney's Consumer Products group, who we had just finished a project for. Digital Blue was working on the hardware portion of the Disney project we worked on. Digital Blue then approached later to design their Astronomy Windows application.
Designed specifically for kids, the user interface looks like you could pluck it off the screen & hold it. We designed the buttons to be a little larger and included intuitive iconography to lessen the learning curve. We also created 2 color themes… a desaturated, purple graphite and a more saturated, deep blue hue which we called Midnight.
